Résumé: The film documents the way of living of an Austro-Asciatic tribe, the Kawa, or Wa as they are called today in the P. R. of China, who live in the south-western Chinese province of Yunnan, near the border to Myanmar (Burma). The film shows the traditional economy of the Wa, the inner-ethnic social relations of different patri-clans and villages and the religious customs and rituals of the Wa.
