  • Résumé: The Yao who call themselves Mien are more than 2 millions people spread over the southern chinese province of Guangxi, Guizhou and Yunnan, but have also migrated to Vietnam, Laos and Thailand in the 19 th century. Belonging to the tibeto burman family, they have many subgroups usually defined according to colors of their traditional clothes. On this cd you can listen to the dark blue YAO ancient songs, some being well known and some being recited by reading ancient books written in chinese characters.
