Résumé: For the indians of Vaupés the Maloka is not only a house but a symbol of the cosmos. For this reason the inauguration of a Maloka is celebrated by a great festival, at which the participants wear precious feather ornaments. The film shows men and women decorating themselves for the dance festival. Different dances are performed inside the Maloka and in the open air. Under the influence of hallucinogene drugs the men recite the old myths of creation. A shaman appears upon the scene with a rattle lance. The festival is accompanied by the music of the syrinx and by the ritual chants.
